What Is An Afterburner?

A kiln or furnace afterburner is a device that is used to burn off and eliminate pollutants and harmful emissions from the exhaust of a kiln, which is a high-temperature oven or furnace used in a variety of industrial and manufacturing processes. Kilns and furnaces are used to produce a vast range of products, including cement, ceramics, glass, bricks and other materials, and they can generate large amounts of pollutants such as particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and nitrogen oxides (NOx).

An afterburner is a piece of pollution control equipment that is used to reduce the emissions from a kiln or furnace by burning off these pollutants in a secondary combustion chamber. Kiln afterburners are typically designed to operate at high temperatures and are equipped with special burners and other components that are able to effectively destroy the pollutants in the exhaust gas.

An RTO is also another form of afterburner, Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer. An RTO works in a very similar way however, an RTO can deal with different emissions. The RTO system is designed to be highly efficient, with a thermal efficiency of up to 93%. This is achieved through the use of a heat exchange system, which allows the heat generated during the oxidation process to be recovered and used to preheat the incoming exhaust gases. A regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) is a type of air pollution control device that is used to treat industrial emissions. It works by heating the exhaust gases from an industrial process to a high temperature and mixing them with oxygen.
