**Normalizing:**

Normalizing is a heat treatment process that involves heating a material to a specific temperature and then cooling it in still air. This process is used to improve the mechanical properties of materials by refining their grain structure. Normalizing can improve the toughness and strength of materials, making them more suitable for high-stress applications.
